Who it is for

  • NPOs, nonprofit general incorporated associations and foundations, public interest corporations
  • School clubs, circles and research labs
  • Local groups and volunteer organizations
  • Unincorporated nonprofit groups and communities are welcome to ask too

What to include in your application

  • Your organization's name and something that shows what it does (website, social media, documents)
  • The name and contact details of your representative or contact person
  • What you will use the servers for, and roughly how many you need

For individuals

So you can learn, build and run your community without worrying about cost. Need more? Talk to us.

Who it is for

  • Students (middle school, high school, university, vocational school and so on)
  • Open-source developers
  • People running Discord, Minecraft or other communities for free
  • People facing financial hardship (we look at each case individually)

What to include in your application

  • Your name (a nickname is fine) and contact details
  • Which group you belong to, and something that shows it (student ID, public repositories, the community you run)
  • What you will use the servers for, and roughly how many you need
  • If you are under 18: your parent's or guardian's consent

No documents are needed to show financial hardship. Tell us about your situation as far as you are comfortable. We use it only to review your application.

FAQ

Is it really free?

Yes. Once accepted, nonprofits can use up to 20 servers and individuals up to 10, with no monthly fee.

What kind of servers do I get?

We ask what you will use them for and agree on suitable plans together.

Is there a time limit?

We check every year whether you want to continue. If you still qualify, you can renew.

Can I use them to make money?

Please use program servers for the nonprofit work, learning, open source or free community you applied with. For uses mainly aimed at income, please use a paid plan.

Is this the same as the helper perks?

No, it is a separate program. The helper perks are for people who help with ASHIKA Group's work.

What if my application is declined?

We tell you why as far as we can. If your situation changes, you can apply again.

Please note

  • ASHIKA Group decides who qualifies based on the application, and may decline applications.
  • ASHIKA Network's terms of service and acceptable use policy apply to these servers.
  • Free servers come with no guarantee of uptime or data retention. Please keep your own backups of anything important.
  • The program may change or end. If it does, we will tell you as early as we can.
